book now

Blazing backroads, boasting beautiful views of the nature park, the 20 mile route is breathtaking.
We reconnected the paths and mapped out an exhilarating route, spanning from the paved paths, through the woods, to the beach, and back.

The route

Video of cruising ft desoto

Start by cruising over the bridge in the bike lane.  You will see Shell Island to your right and the Sunshine Skyway to your left.  Shell Island is a nature preserve; a destination for our kayak and paddle board tours.

The Sunshine Skyway is a 188 ft. tall span connecting Pinellas County and Manatee County.  It's quite impressive and looks stunning when lit up as we return from our excursion.

Ride toward East Beach, where you can get a closer view of the bridge.

As you pass through the area you will see several birds.  The osprey are the most impressive, building giant nests throughout the park.  Loop back toward the Fort, passing by Gulf Pier.

Continue toward Arrowhead Picnic Area.  The shade from the pine trees keep the temps a bit cooler through the campground and pine needles pave the paths.  Keep an eye out for bald eagles as you pass by a few private campgrounds.

Cruising the campgrounds, comparably Station 11 is our favorite.  It's close to Shell Key, and you can see the bridge that we rode over to begin our journey.
Exit the Arrowhead area and arrive at iconic North Beach, where white sand and weathered trees create a wonderful view.  Finish the journey with an open ride down the beautiful beach.

Located at Treasure Bay Resort & Marina.  On the dock. Outside.  Look for the standing paddleboard.
